Grundfos manufacturer suggested retail price on any of their SQF solar pump models is $2,700.00!
Our suggested retail on a BL40D Robison pump is $660.00 and on a SR4 is $830.00.
If you buy a Grundfos pump and it gets hit by lighting or you pump dirt or sand with it, be prepared to pay full retail (over $2,000) to buy another one as they will not cover any of this under warranty or sell parts to fix them.
We have tried for years to get the company to sell us parts so we could fix the pumps for customers and they would not, or the few times they would, the parts would have cost us almost as much as the entire pump brand new. Nor would they offer to fix them in house, they always just told us to sell the customer another new pump if the pump was out of warranty.
If you buy a Robison pump we can rebuild it for you, many times for $300-$400 dollars and sometimes if it's just got some sand in the check valve we can get you going for $100.. So even if you pump some dirt or sand or lightning takes out the pump or something else causes a problem that would not normally be covered under warranty, you are not stuck having to pay full retail for a new pump.
This is also very troubling when dealing with Grundfos warranty issues. We have sent Grundfos pumps in for evaluation and had it take months to get any word or the pumps back. For paying over $2,000 for the pump, yes that is just for the pump, we think that is not acceptable. They seem to think nothing of the customer being out of water for months at a time.
We can typically rebuild your Robison pump and have it back out to you in less than two weeks in most cases.
If your casing size permits, and you are pumping from less than 180 feet, sometimes you can put two or three of our pumps in the hole and pump an equal amount of water as the Grundfos and still have less money tied up!

After several years of selling Grundfos pumps when customer's pumping situations required higher flow rates, or pumping from greater depths than our pumps could handle, we have decided we can no longer promote these extremely expensive pumps. This decision is mainly due to lack of warranty, service and parts support. Depending on the model of Advanced Power Inc. pump you purchase, we can often rebuild our pumps 5 or 6 times before you would ever even come close to the cost of replacing a $2,700 pump of theirs.
